The New Engineering Contract (NEC). provides suites of standard forms of procurement processes and main contracts in construction. The first edition of these contracts fell under the umbrella name “NEC” in 1993. Subsequently is evolved into “NEC 2” in 1995, “NEC3” in 2005 and most recently “NEC 4” in 2017. NEC aims to fill some of the gaps found in prior used contracts by emphasising a collaborative approach to project stakeholders. This course provides with you with a compact review of the NEC Contract. This includes a look into the core clauses, main option clauses, early warning & compensation events, dispute resolution, disallowed cost and the changes made in NEC4.
